Befriending Service
The Befriending Service is an innovative scheme that enhances wellbeing and quality of life for people who are living with dementia or are socially isolated.

The service aims to empower people to take part in activities in their community. It goes beyond traditional befriending services by promoting communication, independence and meets the fundamental psychological and social human needs for people living with dementia or in social isolation.
Crossroads Community Engagement Lead oversees the service. The team member is responsible for completing administrational tasks such as health and safety, customer services, training and evaluation. Crossroads employ a team of volunteers who are the befrienders. They are fully trained and access continuous supervision, support and communication from the service manager.
If you would like to find out more about befriending, get involved or make a referral, please contact Crossroads.
