Active Living Services
Services to help you stay active, maintaining your health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Crossroads Gloucestershire active living services offer several community-based groups, activities, clubs and events that allow people to remain active, improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. Not only do these occasions provide a great opportunity to get to know people and make friends, but they also allow unpaid carers affordable respite provision, knowing that their loved ones are always supported by our fully trained staff.
Active Living primary services include:
- Two Day Centre venues available – one in Cinderford and the other in Abbeymead, Gloucester. Both of these venues support individuals who have more complex care needs giving them the opportunity to take part in themed activities. Carers are welcome to be part of these visits. However carers can also use this time to take the opportunity for respite.
- Carers Friendship Groups – bringing together unpaid carers and family members, providing the opportunity to receive support on living with the cared for as well as giving members the opportunity to make new friends.
- Social groups which visit local venues for lunch and games giving the opportunity for shared interaction across a wide range of fun activities.
We have our own Minibus which allows us to provide door to door transport for people living with difficulties such as limited mobility or have limited access to transport due to rural location.
We are also able to offer these services on a one-to-one basis at the homes of our clients. A staff member works with the individual to plan activities that they are interested in and that are specifically designed to enable participation in whatever way they are able.
By choosing Crossroads Gloucestershire to support you, you are engaging with a fully regulated care service. We are proud of our strong track record, evidenced by a good CQC rating and recognition in national and regional Care Awards. Between 2017-2020, we have been proud to receive awards in categories including Innovators in Care, Care Co-ordinator, Frontline Leader and commended nationally for our End-of-Life care services.
